An article in my Lost Art series in The Art Newspaper dealt with art that has a "death warrant," that was designed to be eventually destroyed. One such work was "the Trumpcracker," the "statue of liberty" designed by Tomaz Schlegl and built in the village of Sela, Slovenia. It made international headlines twice--once on 29 August 2019, when it was built, and again when it was burned by arsonists.
